WELCOME ABOARD!
Welcome to the F.D. Roosevelt Squadron of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) based at NAS Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida.

The NSCC is for American youth ages 10-17 who have a desire to learn about the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. Sea Cadets are authorized by the Secretary of the Navy to wear Navy uniforms appropriately marked with the Sea Cadet Corps insignia. The objectives of the Sea Cadet program are to introduce youth to naval life in a hands-on, real-world environment, to develop in them a sense of pride, patriotism, courage, and self-reliance, and to maintain an environment free of drugs and gangs.
Upcoming & Notices
This message is for Volunteers, Cadets and Families.
ALCON,
Effective immediately and until further notice, Sea Cadet uniforms will not be worn in public or during unit activities. This applies to both cadets and volunteers, including veterans and currently serving service members while supporting Sea Cadet activities and events.
The safety of our cadets and volunteers remains our highest priority. This directive is being taken out of an abundance of caution due to recent security concerns and is consistent with guidance from senior Navy leadership.
Because some units have already completed annual inspections in uniform while others have not, uniform grades will not be included in the 2025 inspection scoring to ensure fairness.
During this period:
-
Color Guards and parade participation will be paused.
-
Cadets may wear Sea Cadet PT gear or appropriate civilian attire.
-
Volunteers may wear Sea Cadet-branded polos or appropriate civilian attire.
-
Cadets participating in virtual CPO Boards may wear their uniforms at home.
Unit leaders who have safety concerns in their local areas may adjust schedules, reschedule, or cancel activities as needed. Please remain vigilant and direct any questions through your chain of command.
I remain in regular contact with Navy leadership and we will due our best to align our guidance with theirs.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our cadets.
Very respectfully,
Andrew Lennon
Executive Director
-
Adhere to the new uniform policy, which states Sea Cadet uniforms will not be worn in public or during unit activities.
-
Contact your chain of command for any questions or concerns.
-
If participating in virtual CPO Boards, wear Sea Cadet uniforms at home.
Good afternoon Parents and Cadets,
Per Admiral Lennon's email, we will not be wearing Type IIIs or Dress Whites at this time.
We are still planning to conduct the PRT tomorrow unless weather conditions prevent us from doing so. Please plan to bring two sets of PT gear. If you do not have two sets, bringing an extra change of clothing would be appreciated.
As we are still a Navy-affiliated program, please follow these general PT uniform guidelines:
-
Shorts should be dark blue or black.
-
Shirts should be yellow, white, blue, or black.
-
Please avoid logos on shirts or shorts.
-
Military logos should not be worn.
At this time, supply requests for uniform items are temporarily suspended.
We have already planned the day’s schedule around events that will take place indoors.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach me at l.price@seacadets.org or (904) 814-3223.
Thank you for your flexibility and support.
Best Regards,
LTJG Lanie Price
Commanding Officer
