Membership Requirements to join the Naval Sea Cadet Corps
In order to join Sea Cadet applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Be between the ages of 14 and 17.
· Must be a US Citizen
· Be a full time student and maintain satisfactory grades (2.00 "C" grade point average).
· Be free of felony convictions.

In order to join League Cadet applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Be between the ages of 11 and 14.
· Must be a US Citizen
· Be a full time student and maintain satisfactory grades (2.00 "C" grade point average).

Membership Requirements for Officers and Instructors
Officers and instructors are adult volunteers who have made the commitment to become a member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps and to support a local unit with a greater level of involvement. These volunteers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the unit and drills. They are expected to attend training programs designed specifically for sea cadet officers.
Many sea cadet officers have previous military experience. Some are currently serving in active or reserve duty in one of the armed services. However, this is not a requirement. Any parent can complete an application to become an officer or instructor. All applicants are subject to a security screening or background check.
In order to join the NSCC Officer Corps applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Must be a US Citizen.
· Be at least 21 years old (NSCC Midshipmen 18-21).
· Pass a criminal background check.
· Be free of felony convictions.

* Applicants need 3 references. They should bring in the reference forms with the person(s) name and address on it ONLY. The CO will mail the form to the persons from whom references are requested. The completed forms will then be returned by mail to the CO.
